Our Colorado Story
Some places just get into your blood.
For Meegan, Colorado was never just a destination — it was family. Long before Meegan Mountain existed, there were summers spent in the shadow of the Rockies, visits to her grandmother in the Boulder area, and a grandfather whose law firm was a fixture of Fort Collins for decades. Her family owned property near the Red Feather Lakes area, tucked into the pines and wide open skies of northern Colorado — and it was there, browsing the charming little mountain shops as a kid, that the seed of something was planted.
It was also her Colorado grandmother in Longmont who first put a craft in her hands — teaching her to make things with care, patience, and love. That handmade tradition carried forward into everything Meegan creates today. And it wasn't just one grandmother who passed down that gift — her Pennsylvania grandmother, originally from Long Island, had a deep love of crochet in her younger years, weaving that same thread of handcraft into the family from the other side.
Meegan grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania — another place with deep roots, rich craft traditions, and a love of handmade things. That Lancaster heart lives on in Talara & Mee, one of the brands under the Meegan Mountain family.
But it was Colorado that gave this whole family of brands its name. Meegan Mountain was born in Pueblo, Colorado, out of a simple but powerful belief: that the things we surround ourselves with should mean something.
